1st Annual New Year's Eve 10 Miler

Seventeen runners were in attendance at the Orb's 1st Annual New Year's Eve 10 Miler including several members of Matt Reneker's St. Thomas Aquinas team and a handful of Massillon Perry runners. Perry alumni Dustin Ford, Ty Griffin and the Orb's Joe Beall represented Mount Union while Jamie Martin, the Orb's Dan Graber (also a former Perry runner) and Dan Simpson repped Heidelberg.

Initially the plan was to run a 10-mile out and back style race at the Craig Pittman Park Trailhead but flurries from the night before left the trail snow-covered and icey. As a precaution Reneker gave everyone the option of running a hilly road loop nearby as an alternative route for the race. He warned that it would be very challenging (which was no lie) and everyone (except initially Sam Stern, haha) willingly accepted.

Route with elevation charts may be found here.
